A storyteller shaped by culture, curiosity, and sound.

ABOUT IRAN

Iran Garcia is an award-winning composer, songwriter, music producer, and audio designer whose work combines cinematic storytelling with a contemporary, genre-fluid sound.

Born in Cuba and raised in Miami, Iran’s relationship with music began through classical guitar and grew into a wider fascination with composition, production, and the recording arts. That foundation eventually took him to Spain, where he earned his master’s degree in Scoring for Film, Television, and Video Games from Berklee College of Music’s Valencia campus.

Across a career spanning more than 25 years, Iran has developed an approach shaped equally by musicianship, technology, and story. Rather than beginning with a predetermined style, he looks for the distinctive sound already living inside each story—its characters, rhythm, atmosphere, and emotional point of view.

WRITING AND COMPOSITION

Orchestra, electronics, guitars, and whatever the story asks for.

He is as comfortable writing for orchestra as he is creating intimate guitar-driven scores, electronic soundscapes, experimental textures, or polished contemporary productions. The medium changes; the purpose remains the same: reveal what the picture cannot say on its own.

FILM & TV

Music reaching screens and audiences worldwide.

Iran’s music has been featured across Apple TV, Netflix, CBS, ESPN, NBC, A&E, Sony Pictures, National Geographic, and Amazon Studios. His scores have received multiple Best Soundtrack honors, and in 2025, Sweetbriar, featuring his original score, won the SXSW Audience Award.

Other projects featuring his work have earned four Daytime Emmy nominations and recognition from festivals and organizations around the world.

AUDIO PRODUCTION & EDITING

Music is never separate from sound.

Iran’s background extends beyond composition into post-production audio, sound design, recording, and mixing.

That broader understanding allows him to consider music as part of the complete sonic world of a film—not simply as an element placed on top of it. Whether working with a full orchestra, shaping a production inside the studio, or developing a score from its earliest creative conversations, he brings a producer’s precision and a storyteller’s sensitivity to every collaboration.

EDUCATION

Curiosity is a practice worth passing on.

Iran teaches music technology, songwriting, audio production, and music business at California State University, Northridge and College of the Canyons. Working with emerging artists continually reinforces what first drew him to music: curiosity, collaboration, and the search for an honest emotional connection.
